Abnormal Marketing are happy to announce the launch of the new website for John and Marilyn Bee’s travelling blog – Trailer Nomads.
John and Marilyn are no strangers to travelling, having ventured into the depths of Vietnam and Laos before. Normally based in Surfer’s Paradise on the Gold Coast in sunny Queensland, they have big plans to head back and explore further.
Brief:
Design a unique and beautiful travel blog website, that can be used as a travel journal, as well as offer advertising space for the trip sponsors. The site had to look professional, yet personable.
Outcome:
We created a custom design, which offers a chronological account of John and Marilyn’s travelling adventures. Since sharing photos through social networking is very important to Trailer Nomads, we made sure there was a Flickr photo album space close to the top of the homepage. The design also needed heavy embedding of Google maps applications to showcase their past and future journeys.

That’s a beautifully designed travel site. Integration of Google Maps and Flickr streams on the RHS sidebar is a very good idea. The equal width for sidebar vs post area makes the homepage look pretty good. But what about the individual post pages? Do they expand in their width?
