LinkedIn has been the number one business-to-business social networking site for a few years now. How they layout your profile, allow you to connect to other professionals, gather referrals and testimonials, and add on various professional plugins, all adds up to a great platform for personal and business promotion.
With increasing competition from Facebook and Google, LinkedIn is taking the next step, in cementing their professional networking status by launching a new Job Seeker plugin.
Days of using a CV or Resume to job hunt will soon be behind us. Already companies and recruitment agencies are “googling” applicants to see what they’ve REALLY been up to in their professional careers. This usually means a visit to:
- YouTube
And now your employability is being determined by your social networking footprint, more so that the nice things you say about yourself in your CV.
The progression LinkedIn has made to merge this further, but creating the Job Seeker plugin, offers a great tool for job hunters and employers alike.
The feature is called “Apply within LinkedIn”, and courtesy of LinkedIn, here’s how it works:
1. Discover
2. Apply
3. Get Hired
The process looks very simple, and it really just a natural progression of what LinkedIn already unofficially does for job seekers.
Perhaps the next step for LinkedIn will be that professionals will be able to add a “Hire Me” button their business networking profiles.
What do you think of LinkedIn? Is it still the best place for B2B networking?

LinkedIn is my favorite networking site; most of the people out there are serious and respond well. This feature certainly adds value to the site. Thanks for sharing this information.
