Following on from Part 3 (Armand Morin), here is Part 4: Pat Mesiti
Pat Mesiti is a name I recognised, when I saw his name on the list. I remember seeing Pat speak many years ago, and it
was a positive memory so I was looking forward to seeing him again. Pat is called “Mr Motivation”, and is probably the most energetic of all the speakers. Pat is an Aussie, who travels the world, speaking and writing. His main area of expertise is Changing Mindsets.
He recently was in the UK interviewing Richard Branson, and a few days later he was giving a speech to me.
His Talk: Pat really explodes onto the stage with enthusiasm, more than any other speaker. Throughout his talk his is very expressive with his body language, speech and movements, and is VERY funny. He really knows how to engage people though laughter, which is a good thing, as it keeps you listening and alert.
He talks about enthusiasm, and the value of appreciating money. He talks about income and the law of attraction, and he asks us to ask ourselves important questions to determine our reasons.
At the end of his discussion, I am motivated but I’m not sure why. I want to go on his seminar and be affiliated with him, but I’m not sure why. Maybe I wasn’t listening effectively…
I only remember things like – “Your income with grow to your seven closest friends. So choose your friends wisely”, and “Why do people get excited when you talk about New Age ideas, get excited when you talk about Buddha, but frown when you mention the Bible”.
Entertaining talk, and his Big Dream Weekend sounds nice, but I’m not moved enough.
Score: 9/10
Marketing View:
Pat has an interesting challenge to sell his product, since I wasn’t exactly sure what it was. He seems less educationally-based and more interactivity based. More the school of life, than institutions. His enthusiasm comes across strongly in his marketing. His online marketing comes across as a little too salesy, and not really engaging. It almost assumes people already know who he is. His website is black, which is quite tricky for a motivational speaker. Black is an emotional colour, which is authoritative and powerful. His Millionaire Mindset website, uses dark blue, which is typical for people trying to educate. I think he might need an online strategy overall.
